Visited climax last week with some mates and was really impressed with the venue and the girls! It's not a big club but great friendly atmosphere and decent drink prices too (no london rip offs here!) Most importantly, there was no pressure to have private dances and the dancers were just happy to chat and have a bit of a laugh with us which was great. We did have a VIP dance each in the end and trust me when I say it wasn't a disappointment :) Will be back for sure!
To Andrew Cunningham, concerning your allegation about me: note that I am more than happy to put my full name and face to this review because I know full well, as you do, that the allegations you have made are entirely false. Please, I welcome you contacting the police if you believe I stole your wallet, it's surely what I would do under the circumstances and I wholeheartedly encourage you to do so if you truly believe that. I have nothing to hide. As for asking you for sex, so laughable as to be nonsensical and barely worth my deigning to reply. I'm an exotic dancer, if I wanted to be a prostitute then I would be one, and you wouldn't find me in a strip club. As it happens I'm dancing to support myself through a law degree, and any forays into the wrong side of the law would surely jeaopordise that, which brings me nicely on to my next point: you've defamed and libelled me, and I'm more than happy to get my lawyers involved if you want to continue making these false allegations. It's no skin off my nose.

Good for a night out, drinks are reasonably priced. They have a room where the floor lights up! However toilet and staircase smell like cheesy feet?!
Nice and spacious with different music rooms and has themed night and occasional special guests. It's better that when it was under old management (liquid). Can become very busy and the smoking area is very small in comparison to the size of the building and is up several flights of stairs. Which is not only a nightmare in heels but if you have joint or mobility problems like me, it can cause havoc. Can take a long time to get a drink on a busy night, despite there being several bars.

Bigger than it looks from the outside, good music and good vibe, unfortunately the price here is a bit steep and you have to work your way around people just to get to the loo.
Drinks drinks drinks. Loads of cocktails and I recommend getting a teapot. The do a deal on Thursdays called "toss the boss" - order your drinks, flip a coin, if you win it's half price.

We went and played mini golf. The course is pretty fun, with a few hazards like a jump and tunnels. The holes have a little map before each one showing optimal routes - a couple of them are on the wrong holes, which is a bit confusing. The dinosaurs are pretty good but I'm not super clear why it's dinosaurs AND ancient Romans - seems like you could have just picked one.
Golf course average for this time of year. Very hot but normally very good. Food average to below average

Great member owned golf club, great condition fairways and greens. Lovely traditional club house and a great welcome for societies. Recommended!!
Another great day at Colchester Golf club course was in good condition considering the dry mouth we have had a bit dryer in places but greens were in good condition . All our members and their guests enjoyed the day bar staff and catering staff served us very well thanks very much.

One of the friendliest and busiest clubs in Colchester - I have played for them for about 6 years after moving to the area and although it's good to circulate and guest at other clubs I'll always stay a member of this one. Always competitive in the league as well, winning the Knock-Out cup a couple of years ago and currently top of the Men's 2nd league. If you want some competitive games and also a social element of pub visits and barbecues etc then go along to club night and you'll always be welcome
Great social club

Great venue! Wonderful setting, you would never know that you were in the heart of town. Perfect for those sunny days! The food is second to none and great value!
Liked it. A good venue for a private party. If you haven't been there for a while make sure you understand the new route by road. No longer accessible via Abby Gate

Staff never discuss anything fitness related. Staff have to promote drinks when you arrive at the gym - very annoying. Personal Trainer initial meeting lacked professional. I decided it to proceed with further sessions so he now won’t even say hi! Staff basically lack genuine customer service skills or training. Nice people but clearly not targeted on creating a great customer experience. Parking can be tricky when in peak periods. Pool area is basic. Sauna is small. Gym is always being cleaned. Equipment is average. Decent room. Air con a bit unreliable in the summer. Good free weights. Staff not proactive in ensuring customers folks gym rules. Weights often all over the place and dropping weights instead of lowering them. In three years no member of staff has asked me how is my training going. Or if they can help with anything. Promised new equipment last summer but it never arrived. For the money the gym is good value.
I’ve had no problems with parking so far, all staff seem lovely and friendly & the gym and pool are clean. It’s a good gym

Wonderful bacon butties when we go there for Roman Roadsters classic car meet up every third Sunday of the month!
The cadets are based on board an old 1950’s lighthouse ship, which was decommissioned and converted in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s. Good to see the ship put to use, it gives a reminder that the Hythe used to be a port (much of its maritime history is long since gone). Opposite the lighthouse ship is a concrete pillar with a metal lantern on top - this was once part of the entranceway into a coal-fired power station, which stood where the warehouses are now from the 1920’s until the 1960’s. There's another pillar (missing it's lantern) a bit further down the quay, at the entranceway to a breaker's yard. There's a similar lighthouse ship at Tollesbury, from the same era as this one
