Fantastic dental surgery. Staff are professional, courteous and do their utmost to make your visit a positive experience. A. Marshall in particular is wonderful. She was thorough, professional and friendly. Highly recommend.
Great dentists and a great service. Highly recommend for a first class service.
COLCHESTER TOWN CENTRE, 39 St Botolph's St, Colchester CO2 7EA, UK – 01206 767471
The surgery is a friendly but efficient place - immaculately clean and newly refurbished environment. The pleasant staff both on reception and in the consulting rooms make you feel at ease
I have been with this practice for many years, both as a private patient and NHS. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. I am really pleased with my dental implants and also the aftercare.
54 Wimpole Rd, Colchester CO1 2DL, UK – 01206 796326
For someone who is afraid of the dentist and has been for years which is why I have bad teeth, just had an emergency appointment and I have never in my Life been made at ease like these guys did, Mr mkenzie was gentle and spoken to me so I understood and his assistant was just as helpful, never thought I'd say this but I can't wait to go again 🤣🤣
What a wonderful experience; I never though that I'd say that about Dentists! Mr McKenzie and his staff made me feel very welcome and an introduction to painless dentistry that i never thought possible. Do't go anywhere else for your teeth my family certainly wont.

52 Wimpole Rd, Colchester CO1 2DL, UK – 01206 794794
I've had excellent and thorough care from the GPs I've seen at Wimpole Road Surgery.
Found this surgery to be very good! The Receptionists are very friendly and welcoming and take time with patients. The doctors and nursing staff listen to the ailments which are troubling you and recommend different options. Have had many health problems and these have been treated well and involved specialist treatments. The one doctor I found condescending and rude was a female elder doctor who has thankfully now left. Wonderful place and the fact you can book appointments and prescriptions online makes life easier.
18 North Hill, Colchester CO1 1DZ, UK – 01206 578070
While some of my friends and family find it difficult to find a doctor willing to listen to them and to suggest more than taking paracetamol, I found here one of the best GPs I have ever talked to. Dr. Claire Cooper always pays attention, takes one's worries seriously, listens carefully and sent me for future medical investigations every time it was the case. I think she does a brilliant job and I am happy that there are still people like her in the NHS.
St. Edmunds Centre, Tamarisk Way, Colchester CO4 3GW, UK – 01206 871157
The doctors and reception staff are extremely good. I have used this surgery for over 13 years and always feel like we matter and that they try their best. You call up on the day to make an appointment and keep redialling until you get through, but you will get an appointment, if not an emergency it may be a telephone appointment but that has helped me in the past. The waiting room now looks a bit tired but 13 years ago it was spotless and looked brand new. I think we are fortunate to have the care we get from our surgery.
I have been using this surgery for the last 20 odd years and although I don't use it a great deal I think that the staff do the best they can considering all the restraints that the government has placed on them in the last few years. I have ALWAYS been able to get appointment on the day I've booked, yes you have to ring at 0830 and keep re dialing but you will eventually get through and get an appointment but this is hardly a hardship like previous reviewers have written. You try getting an appointment at a Drs surgery in London, you will be lucky if you are seen the same month! I have sat in the waiting room and cringed at some of the abuse the receptionists get. I have always been polite and have always had the same back. I now live over 7 miles from this surgery but would I change...never!
Turner Rd, Mile End, Colchester CO4 5JL, UK – 01206 747474
Wonderful support from staff (especially Louise) on Darcy ward. It can't be an easy job working end of life care but they treated with love and care. It's tough saying goodbye to a loved one when you're on your own and not ideal to say goodbye in the middle of a ward, but the staff tried hard to make it as comfortable as possible and showed true compassion for both my aunt and myself. I'm sure your patients appreciate your kindness, I certainly did. Thank you.
Last night we attended Colchester A&E department after an accident with my 7months old baby. Quick and efficient we were directed to the correct department for the age and injuries of our baby, were quickly seen by the nurse then doctor and was home within a couple of hours. In the late hours of a Saturday night my visions of what an A&E department would look like were far from accurate in this case and I was so impressed with how the system works in this hospital.
Lexden Rd, Colchester CO3 3NB, UK – 01206 747474
They saved my life, so I would give them 10 stars if I could!
Staff is very helpful, kind and professional. It was very easy to find my way and to get the instructions needed. The building is very old and historical which automatically means some renovation may be needed, but nevertheless good service.
120 Mile End Rd, Mile End, Colchester CO4 5XR, UK – 01206 752121

I cannot recommend Naz and the team here highly enough. Professional, friendly and accommodating with appointments. Treatment I have had is of excellent quality and care was taken throughout to ensure my comfort both during and after treatment. Thank you!
97 Crouch St, Colchester CO3 3HA, UK – 01206 579631
I couldn't ask for a better place. The receptionists are all wonderful and amazing not to mention beautiful and are very bubbly and friendly. The physiotherapists are great too, they are always looking out for what's best for you and are extremely helpful. This is the place everyone needs to go, no doubt. Now stop reading this and get down there =D!!
Alasdair Jones, I need to thank you for making my life better again... For once the pain in my partners neck was not me, and I know she needed an expert to help sort the issue. After a few sessions you had found the problem, and helped her body adjust and recover. The relief for us all huge; my children are being feed and feel loved again, the dog is being walked, and I am back to being the biggest pain in her life. Normality restored. Highly recommended!
316-318 Ipswich Rd, Colchester CO4 0ET, UK – 01206 844242
Prof. Andrew L and team have been instrumental in getting my confidence back so as to not only visit when the mother of all toothaches and her ugly sisters arrive. I now have regular check-ups and hygienist visits and even when I need treatment my gorgeous wife Becky (Hi Becky x) doesn't have to dose me with Scotch and hold my hand in Prof. Andrew's Theatre of Pain i mean treatment room. The place is spotless – you could eat your dinner off the floor. One of Prof. Andrew’s colleagues did a tricky extraction for me a while back – piece of cake….which is ironic as it appears that too many pieces of cake might have actually been the reason for the need.
Andrew moulded a new crown and did a large filling for me in one long appointment. Needed a 2nd short appointment to fit the crown. Absolutely painless and trouble free dentist work. 1st Class.
University of Essex, Wivenhoe Park, Colchester CO4 3SQ, UK – 01206 794484
All of those 5 stars go to Dr Michele Wall. The BEST GP I have ever met. I graduated last year, but during my time at university I struggled with a lot of mental health issues. They are still ongoing and I honestly wish I could have taken Dr Wall with me.. I've had countless GPs snub me or misdiagnose me or not take me seriously despite my obvious distress. Dr Wall never did that. She convinced me to try medication and asked me to come back every two weeks to make sure I was doing alright. She sat with me for up to an hour sometimes and just let me talk through everything going on in my head. And she not only understood on a personal level, but she was very knowledgeable about mental and psychological health issues. I felt totally at ease to express myself and completely in control of my own treatment.. Cheers Dr Wall, you deserve a medal :)
Don't rely on them if you are sick, go buy some medicine from stores. Only go there if you can't attend lectures and have to prove that you are indeed sick, which is the only way.
Turner Rd, Mile End, Colchester CO4 5JR, UK – 01206 314015
Visited this morning as my 6 year old Daughter has developed at ear infection during our holiday in Clacton. Registered, checked in, assessed and checked out within 20 minutes. Annie our GP was so kind and caring that my Daughter has spoken of her all day. What I thought was going to be an entire day lost was actually painless. Thank you Annie and the Team
18 North Hill, Colchester CO1 1DZ, UK – 01206 578070
My husband, children and I have recently registered with this practice and I cannot praise them enough. Reception are not ‘gushing’ but they are super efficient, professional and helpful, which is far more important in my opinion. Dr Cooper is fantastic. The phlebotomist nurse that took my blood, was so reassuring and kind (considering I always faint/have a panic attack). My husband who has a very serious condition, has also had great support there. Not that it matters, but even the building is really nice. We all feel in very safe hands, so we would highly recommend the surgery and thank everyone there for looking after us so well.
There seems to be a change in staff at reception, with incredibly helpful ladies on the desk now, and I have not had many problems since complaining before Xmas 2017 about rudeness from one particular member of that team. I think this one woman is responsible for earlier reviews, but seems to have gone now. As for appointments, you can get one in advance as long as you don't need it the same day, so info on here is not strictly correct. Doctors are patient and always give me a lot of time to talk, and always have some interesting ideas and resources. Phlebotomist is great, never leaves a bruise, friendly and efficient. I would say give this surgery a go if you were put off previously, as that situation seems to have resolved since 2017. The only thing I would say is that the prescriptions used to be a bit chaotic but even that now has settled down and I have had no issues with them since then either. It's also a really nice building, relaxing to be in the waiting room with the Tudor beams!

This is local store located in the town centre. Great location while you do rest of your shopping on Saturday. Pharmacy and pharmaceutical products (prescriptions) most of the time in stock. Staff most of the times are proffesional and provides good service as you would expect it from Boots . Medical advice are good and helpful. Store opening hours are convenient for local residents. There is click and collect service available at this store.
Excellent place where you can simply find anything. Very helpful and good service also, the Pharmacy counter is also very professional.

Just got some very thorough advice from the friendly staff here regarding my son’s burnt hand
A good dispensary but the store suffers from a lack of space so the range of goods tends to be a bit restricted

290 Ipswich Rd, Colchester CO4 0ES, UK – 01206 841215
Wife's aunt is here. The place has a great culture, many staff have been here many years and there is a sense in which they love their jobs and that the elderly people are very well looked after and above all seen as real people. It doesn't look like much but I'd rather she was here than in many private-pay facilities.

A very professional, knowledgeable acupuncturist. First time I've been without pain for weeks.
I tried everything for my tension headache and dizziness, but the only thing that really helped me was cupping at this place. I am so grateful that I found this amazing place with such an incredible lady who knew what she was doing.
78 N Station Rd, Colchester CO1 1SE, UK – 01206 571892
Very happy with treatment here. Parking very limited though.
314 Mersea Rd, Colchester CO2 8QY, UK – 01206 548899
I have had some treatments with David at the clinic and he is fantastic. Being pregnant I wanted to know that I was in good hands with someone who had experience to treat my body and make sure I was in the best condition to remain active throughout pregnancy and that my pelvis was in the best possible position for labour. He has years of experience and knew exactly what to do. I couldn’t recommend more!
I would certainly recommend Mersea Road Clinic. I have seen several different people at the practise who have all been helpful and attentive to on-going lower back pain. Friendly and helpful staff and always easy to book in with.
1A Gray Rd, Colchester CO3 3HR, UK – 01206 577000
I had my first ever chiropractic experience today about my lower back pain (sciatica). I am a tall guy and my posture always been really poor and so straight after my first visit I am walking around with a great posture which doesn't feel sort of weird to hold it that way anymore, I feel refreshed and relaxed. I recommend them to anybody in a need of chiropractic treatment.
I was diagnosed quickly, even before MRI by Josh. He is professional and empathic. Gave stirling advice and helped me no end. The nature of my problem isn't a quick fix but the treatment has been very effective and I have seen a definite improvement. I highly recommend. 5* all day long.
97 Gosbecks Rd, Colchester CO2 9JT, UK – 01206 625755

Can't recommend Rob more highly.

Fiona has a wealth of knowledge on Homeopathy and now is a Bowen Therapist. She has helped me over many years with eczema, tennis elbow and general skin care for dry skin. Her new Rather Lovely scented candles have been the best, filling the room with wonderful fragrance and burning for many times longer than other synthetic candles. The hand cream nourishes without being sticky, I'd recommend Fiona and her products to anybody.
I have visited Fiona for both homeopathy and Bowen Therapy and found both therapies very helpful. Fiona is a very kind, caring therapist and I would highly recommend visiting her.
Spring Cl, Colchester CO4 9TN, UK – 07734 922129
I found Homeopathy with Sarah when I was looking for alternative treatments for anxiety and sleep problems. Sarah was incredibly approachable and instantly made me feel at ease discussing the problems that I was suffering from. Her deep insight brought me to understand the root of the problems, and I have been able to work through them with her help. She is thorough with her assessments and treatments, and is always happy to answer any questions that come up. Sarah is very knowledgeable, and her professionalism and experience have kept me visiting for remedies for my entire family. I know that my family is in good hands and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate homeopath.
I first contacted Sarah regarding a recurring problem I'd had for many years thinking it was just 'one of those things' that I'd have to live with. However, after a few consultations and subsequent treatments, I'm very happy to say that it's gone and, more importantly, not come back. I found her to be very professional, welcoming, and easy to talk to about anything and everything. I have since used (and continue to use) her for my general health and well being and also for various issues with my 2 children who feel very comfortable with her. What more can I say...other than I would highly recommend her...definitely worth a call at the very least!

All the staff are really helpful, friendly and professional. They have a nice large range of glasses to suit all budgets too. Most importantly, the eye tests are thorough and the specialists listen to you and don't condescend. I also like the shop floor layout. I'd been to several other opticians over the years but after trying Specsavers back in 2013 I haven't wanted to go anywhere else.
They take great care of you. Explain in detail what they are doing and what is needed. Very friendly staff and include test that some smaller companies charge for. Would not go anywhere else
Unit 11, Culver Walk, Lion Walk Centre, Colchester CO1 1XJ, UK – 01206 369733
FANTASTIC!!! Well looked after by your Colchester store. All began with the superb and personalised welcome by Store Manager, Darren. He made sure I was well looked after by staff and optometrists, he possessed a genuine care through-out. I had a speedy initial exam, before visiting my optometrist, Karen. It was evident that Karen had a wealth of knowledge and was willing to answer my many questions! We discussed contact lenses as an option, which I was apprehensive about, but met with Dina who alleviated my immediate concerns! I was handed over to another colleague after the contact lenses trial, to help me make a decision about my glasses, again they were able to answer my many questions and had the expertise to answer them. There was no break in the service, everything ran totally smoothly, always someone available, great teamwork. All in all its obvious that Darren and the team are passionate about eye care in this store. Already looking forward to my next visit.
Great experience .The lady who done my eye test was very nice and helpfull .Thank you

I have been visiting Niki at Lexden Health Practice for the last 20 weeks in relation to preganancy related hip / back pains. I cannot recommend her and her use of osteopathy enough. I strongly believe that her treatments have enabled me to be more mobile and active throughout the second and third trimesters of this pregnancy than I was with my first. She has carefully explained every treatment to me and I leave her office feeling really mobile and full of vigor! I have been recommending using osteopathy to other pregnant friends as I feel its benefits cannot be over stated! I will be coming back for a post natal appointment too!
I've never been to an osteopath but my back had been getting more tense and uncomfortable over the last few months so I thought it'd be a good idea. I ended up getting an appointment with Ellie, and when I arrived she looked quite young so i was a little sceptical about her level of expertise, however as soon as I entered my appointment it was clear she knew a lot about her profession, she made me feel very comfortable and quickly located the problem areas in my back, explaining them to me and telling me how they may have happened and what I could continue to do to keep them problem free. She clicked and cracked a few things and since my appointment i've been feeling great, problem solved it would seem. My appointment with Ellie has given me great confidence in seeing her if I have any more problems in the future and I wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else. Thank you!
Weston Businees Center - The Colchester Centre, Hawkins Rd, Colchester CO2 8JX, UK – 07709 573064
Hayley has treated my back and neck and worked wonders. Knowledgable, informative and excellent clinically. Explains everything in detail and works with you to ease the pain and increase movement ☺️
Hawkins Rd, Colchester CO2 8JY, UK – 07725 908456
Have been in pain and unable to stand up straight for almost a week! Had an appointment here today and now feel so much better. The Osteopath explained what she was doing and why so I could understand the cause of the problem and, at the end of the session, I was shown a number of exercises to do that will help alleviate my back issues. Would definitely recommend SJMS.
15 Cavalry Rd, Colchester CO2 7GH, UK – 01206 751551
Getting to the clinic was easy, easy to find parking, and the staff were pleasant and friendly. The clinic is very clean and modern.Treatment was very effective and I was back to performing on the athletics track in no time. All in all very impressed, will use again.

I have visited with bodyworks a few times now. Each time I am made to feel comfortable and at ease. The physios I have met with have been very knowledgable and highly professional. Have helped myself and my daughter out no end. Highly recommend them for ladies issues as well as muscular and pain issues.
I would like to thank publicly as I have done privately Mrs Katrina Wade on helping me with my knees/back and shoulders, I have found she has improved my mobility with acupuncture and ultrasound and nothing is too much trouble. I would also like to extend my thanks to the team at the Bodyworks centre for being most helpful. I hope that anyone who reads this will take my strong recommendation and give Mrs Wade at Bodyworks a call, you have nothing to lose and (in my case) everything to gain, I feel my movement has improved which make me feel better in myself. Thank you Katrina Wade at Bodyworks.

I would like to recommend James. I went to him with problems with my shoulder. He fixed it all. He knew exactly what he was doing and helped me no end. he is friendly and professional. Any problems I suggest you contact this man!!!!!! Doug Wyatt
I highly recommend JL Physiotherapy. I ran a half marathon in February and could barely walk afterwards, after not being able to run and putting off getting treatment for two months I finally went to see James. After ONE session I was back to the gym and running again! Amazing results :)
Turner Rd, Mile End, Colchester CO4 5JL, UK – 01206 228712
I've done several stints of rehab here and whilst the later hospital is more locked down, clinical treatment is good and if you are scared, violent and have to be restrained, this is done with the minimum force, no deliberate brutality. It's cheaper than The Priory, so if you've gone on a trip you can't get yourself down from, ring their number and ask to speak with a crisis team or ask your GP to refer you. It can be very scary due to the nature of patients being emotionally disturbed. My only gripe is there is understaffing and presumably the pay isn't great for the staff so they need longer hours, which doesn't help this most highly stressed situation. Another problem I've encountered is issues surrounding section paperwork. You are entitled to legal representation and advocacy if you are to be held in a rehab facility against your will, this is not always forthcoming. Worst still patients under section have been asked to sign other paperwork, including adoption forms, immigration, criminal confession and other life changing issues when they are legally not in the capability to sign them. Essex Social Services are the most regular breakers of that law and this needs to be exposed. That said, there's a good community spirit among the patients/inmates (if it's got locks it's by definition a prison) , and great chances to learn from each other as well as the excellent staff and community volunteers of all grades. You can learn a lot there, it would be a good place to learn about mental health and Anglia Ruskin University has used the facility in in-work training schemes for nurses and doctors.
